Hoje vim falar sobre o segundo livro numa das minhas séries preferidas, o A Court of Mist and Fury! 

Já tinha o livro cá em casa há alguns meses, mas entre a escola e o resto das coisas que tenho para fazer, só consegui lê-lo o mês passado, e é óbvio que superou todas as minhas expectativas!

Because I Love You was a book that caught my eyes because of the storyline: a sixteen-years-old girl that gets pregnant. I've never read something similar to this, but since I want to start reading more diverse books I decided to give it a try! And I can say that I really enjoyed it!

I decided to start this book in the beginning of August out of curiosity, nothing more, but after a few pages, I was hooked into the story and the characters. I couldn't put it down, and in two days time I finished it!

Hoje venho falar sobre um livro que me foi sugerido pelo próprio autor e ao qual recebi o ebook para, no futuro, caso quisesse, fazer opinião.

No entanto, o facto do autor me ter enviado uma cópia do seu livro não alterou em nada a minha opinião! Fui sempre imparcial, e esta é, de facto a minha opinião da forma mais honesta possível!

Monstress Volume 1: Awakening caught my eyes because of the sentence "Set in an alternate matriarchal 1900's Asia", and also because of the astonishing artwork that Sana Takeda did.
Sadly I didn't see a lot of historical references but I should had expected since it clearly says "alternate". Despite that, the artwork was beautiful and I couldn't love it more!

I am not the biggest fan of graphic novels because, in my opinion, they usually lack in the world building department and I never truly relate with the characters.
With that said, Monstress Vol.1 was a bit of a disappointment but also a good surprise.

I read 'Red Queen' in the beginning of this year, and even though it wasn't the best book I've ever read, I did liked it, and the ending made me really excited for 'Glass Sword'. Well, let's just say what a disappointment...

Don't get me wrong, 'Glass Sword' had good moments and there were some parts when I was really enjoying it, but overall I don't think it was as good as the first one. Actually I can summarize this book with one simple sentence: Mare, Mare and Mare.

Hoje venho falar um pouco sobre uma série que terminei recentemente, e que no próximo dia 18 começará a ser publicada cá em Portugal, com a publicação do primeiro livro, The Winner's Curse ou A Maldição do Vencedor.

Então, a série em questão é The Winner's Trilogy da Marie Rutkoski, e eu posso já dizer que a adorei! Mal posso esperar pelo próximo livro desta autora!

‘This Is Where It Ends’ is a book about a huge and critical problem (that takes place frequently in the U.S.) which is school shootings. I’ll be honest, I had no expectations going into this book and I think that worked out really well for me because I adored it!

Sure I have one or two things that I would’ve liked to had seen in the book but besides that I can say that I totally loved it!

As I said before, I requested this e-ARC from Netgalley and I was sure I wasn't going to get it... but I did, and I was so happy about it that I had to immediately start this book!

Alexandra Bracken is well known in the BookTube and BookBlog community for her previous series, ‘The Darkest Minds’ series, and while I haven’t read that series I always wanted to read something written by Bracken and this was my chance! And a great one, I might add because the concept of this book is about time travelling which I love! And with all of this, I can honestly say that I had high expectations for ‘Passenger’.

But I was disappointed…

There were a lot of things that I didn't like about this book, and I think I will start with those since this list is bigger than the list of things I actually did like.

First of all, I didn't enjoy Alexandra Bracken’s writing. In the beginning, I was struggling with it because, as a non-native English speaker, there were words and expressions that I couldn’t understand even though I’ve read a lot of books written in English.

Bracken’s writing is really meticulous and she tries to make it as beautiful as possible which doesn’t make it any easier to understand. And you can say that is not the author’s problem, that it is my problem because I am the one who wasn't born in any English speaking country, and I agree with you!

The thing is, in the beginning, the writing was difficult to understand but after a while it got better and I could follow it completely, but then it got boring…

There were a lot of parts that I think it could had been cut out such as internal thoughts that did not lead to anywhere.

Opinião: As Dez Figuras Negras de Agatha Christie

Hoje venho falar um pouco sobre um livro que li recentemente, e que provou ser... arrepiante.
Esta leitura foi impulsionada pelo projeto Lusitubers, dado que, o tema deste mês era ler um livro que a nossa parceira (no meu caso, a Roxana) tivesse gostado muito.
Eu escolhi As Dez Figuras Negras da Agatha Christie, que já queria ler desde o início do ano, e que por não o ter, tive de pedir emprestado à Roberta (obrigada!).
Aproveito para aqui referir que este será o meu último "trabalho" em conjunto com os Lusitubers, pois, este mês, decidi sair do projeto , e assim sendo, não haverão mais vídeos sobre ele, no meu canal.
Mas pronto, voltando ao livro... vamos lá ver o que é que achei dele!

Opinião: Frankenstein de Mary Shelley

Olá!
Como devem saber, caso tenham visto a minha TBR de Outubro, este mês o tema dos Lusitubers é Terror, e por isso, decidi ler um livro que já queria ler há bastante tempo e que é curtinho, o que é sempre uma vantagem em tempo de aulas, e o escolhido foi Frankenstein da Mary Shelley!
Não posso negar que a minha escolha também foi influenciada por um novo filme, baseado no livro, estar para sair já no próximo mês, com o Daniel Radcliffe como um dos atores principais. Eu tenho que ver esse filme!
Mas pronto, voltando ao livro... vamos lá ver o que achei dele!

Hoje, em continuação com a série #SetembroMaas, vou publicar a opinião do livro The Assassin's Blade, que é o livro que junta as cinco novellas que antecedem os eventos de Throne of Glass.
Eu preferia, e recomendo, ter lido este livro logo depois de ter acabado Throne of Glass, o que não aconteceu, mas isso não quer dizer que não vos possa recomendar a ordem cronológica que eu prefiro para ler esta série, que é: primeiro, Throne of Glass e depois The Assassin's Blade!

Opinião: Throne of Glass (Trono de Vidro) de Sarah J. Maas

Olá!
Hoje decidi começar uma nova "série", intitulada de #SetembroMaas em que vou falar de todos os livros que já li da série Throne of Glass, em comemoração ao quarto livro, Queen of Shadows, ter saído no dia 1 deste mês, por isso, não fiquem espantados quando começarem a ver imensas opiniões no canal!
Por mera coincidência, hoje mesmo vai ser publicado o primeiro livro da série Throne of Glass cá em Portugal, com o título de Trono de Vidro, e até é engraçado o facto de ter de publicar a minha opinião sobre esse livro no dia da sua publicação cá no nosso país.
E eu tenho a edição inglesa, por isso vou publicar todas as informações em inglês, mas caso queiram saber mais sobre a edição portuguesa, podem ver aqui.

Como já devem saber, este mês o tema dos Lusitubers é o Plano Nacional de Leitura (PNL) e eu resolvi fazer opinião de um livro que eu li no início deste ano e que ainda não tinha tido oportunidade de falar.
