And that was one of the million things I really enjoyed about it!
This book deals with a fourteen-year-old that suffers from anxiety and depression. And we get to see how it is to deal with those problems.
I must admit I was kind of afraid about two things in this book: the first thing is that I wouldn't enjoy the book as much, because of the point of view of a fourteen-year-old and the second thing is that I wouldn't react well to the fact that I was reading about a character that suffers from anxiety, like me.
But the book was fantastic, and none of those problems happened! Kinsella's writing is beautiful as her stories. And this may seem like a tough read, because of the subject, but it's actually not, which was really surprising.
Audrey was such a lovely character, and I really enjoyed seeing her grow up and start to deal with her problems in a better way.
Her family was one of the most funniest families I have ever read, and I really enjoyed them! Every member of the family was important and had their one 'thing' and even though they fought a lot, they still found a way to be together as a family and help Audrey.
Linus was also really lovely and I loved seeing him caring for the main character and trying to help her. Their notes were the cutest and made me smile so hard!
And I was really surprised by the fact that the author didn't focus the story line in Linus and Audrey's relationship, but instead in Audrey's recovery.
She gave us some really lovely moments with the two characters but it wasn't just about the two of them.
And Audrey's recovery was really interesting because we get to see how she was in the beginning of the book, and I think we can all agree that it wasn't a good lifestyle at all... but in the end, we get to see her enjoying her life with more confidence and self-love.
And that was the best thing for me, because I understood some of Audrey's problems, since I sometimes suffer from them, and I was really anxious to see how she would end up... and the end, at least for me, was really good!
I was really happy to see Audrey recording herself, which was a major thing for her and a precious moment for me!
To conclude, I have to say that I really loved this book because it wasn't just about Audrey. It was about all of us who deal with some really bad problems such as depression and anxiety, things that affect our daily lives.
And Sophie Kinsella tried to send us a message: life has ups and downs and it's fine to have downs, as long as you keep trying to go up!
So, I gave this book 4 stars on Goodreads, and I'm so in love with this it that I plan to buy a physical copy!
I recommend 'Finding Audrey' to everyone but especially to people who suffer with depression or anxiety, or even other problems, because this book is going to give you a really nice feeling after you read it!
This was my completely honest opinion and I hope you liked it!
Bye, Ana.
